Role of Integrated Approaches in Water Resources Management: Antofagasta Region, Chile

Water is essential for the survival of all living beings and plays a significant role in growth any country?s economy. At present, water depletion pollution are serious challenge due to anthropogenic, geogenic climate change activities worldwide, including Chile. The Antofagasta region located northern Chile heart its mining industry, playing region?s main shortage contamination. Due it, local population facing major difficulties obtaining necessary domestic, industrial, irrigation, other uses. Therefore, resources management plan maintain sustainable environment. Considering above points, parameters, such as slope, aspect, elevation, hillshade, drainage, drainage density river basin—maps prepared using digital elevation model (DEM) data geographic information system (GIS) Besides, risk level assessment study area?s cities/villages done GIS application. important created maps identification present could provide policymakers help them make suitable area.
